Summer Camps/Groups
Summer Camps
Our two summer camps combine learning English, having fun and immersion in Irish life and culture. Please read the following information then choose the camp that is best for you. All camps include:
• Full board accommodation in local host-families
• 15 hours tuition per week
• Activities programme every afternoon, some including local children
• Mini-tours every Wednesday afternoon
• Evening entertainment programme 3 evenings per week
• Tours every Saturday
• Airport transfers
Accommodation
Students are accommodated with local host-families. This gives the students the chance to hear and practise English in a natural environment. The families are all known personally to us. The families provide breakfast, a packed lunch and evening meal for the students.
Classes
From 1000 to 1315 daily. Students are tested and placed in their appropriate level. All aspects of the language are studied. We place a special emphasis on improving speaking and listening skills. Our teachers are qualified and experienced. Students are awarded a certificate upon completion of course. Maximum class size of 15 students.
Activities
From 1415 to 1715. These include sports like basketball, soccer, water sports, golf, tennis and gaelic football. Other enjoyable activities are Irish dancing, treasure hunts, music, hiking, painting, films and arts and crafts. We encourage local children to participate in some activities. The students play the local soccer team in a friendly, “international” match. The activities give the students an appreciation of Irish life and culture which will remain with them forever.
Tours & Mini Tours
Our tours depart every Saturday at 1000 and return at 1900. The tours combine sightseeing, culture and fun activities. There is a Mini-Tour every Wednesday afternoon. We visit places such as Dublin, Wexford, Waterford & Kilkenny.
Evening Entertainment
Tuesdays and Fridays
• Teenage disco
• Irish dancing
• Bowling
• Games night
School Groups
We welcome groups to Aughrim throughout the year. The programme is similar to the summer camps but can be adapted to suit the group’s requirements. Our proximity to Dublin means students can experience family life in Ireland and also enjoy frequent trips to the capital.
